Capabilities

EleGrid™ software generates a grid discretation of a parametric system. The parametric system can be defined recursively as with EleSalient™. EleGrid uses a computational geometry (CG) method to patch parameter space with rectangles. Regions of parameter stretching are tiled with greater refinement.

EleGrid capabilities include:

• Triangulation that avoids small and large angles.
• Crack fix-up along patch boundaries where tiling is irregular.
• Normal vector and center point computation preprocessing for renderer.

Also, EleGrid offers the following user-controlled options:

• Superimposed curves, such as geodesics.

EleGrid is distributed with Elements™ Engineering-Scientific Workspace. However, it is a software component that can be embedded in any ActiveX document.
